TV movie ‘The Client List,’ which aired on US TV channel Lifetime last night, July 19, as a married mother of three who decides to sell her body after she and her husband lose their jobs. But rather than be shocked by the racy role, Jennifer’s mother Patricia is thrilled her daughter has been brave enough to take on the character of Samantha Horton. The former ‘Ghost Whisperer’ star, who took up pole dancing to get in shape for the movie, told ‘Entertainment Tonight’, “My mom’s like, ‘I’m so proud. You’re pole dancing and you’re going to play a prostitute. Awesome!’
“It’s like, ‘Yeah, what you always dreamed about, mama!’ But you know, it’s a great part.”
She hopes people will reassess their preconceived opinions on why women go into prostitution once they have seen the film. Jennifer said, “Given where we are economically, it’s an interesting story. This is the most recession-proof business there is! It’s really a movie about the human condition, and the heart, and where life can take you.
“Samantha has no choice at the end of the day but to give everything that she can in order to take care of her family. It just gets out of hand.”
The Ghost Whisperer actress, Jennifer Love hewitt, who stars in Lifetime’s new original movie The Client List says she’d like to try her hand at a more comedic role if she returns to television.
“Some of the TV stuff I’m looking at is comedy stuff, I think if I do something I would like to try something a little lighter and not a one-hour drama schedule,” she said.
“That’s the most daunting part. My time on TV has been awesome, between Party Of Five and Ghost Whisperer I’ve been severely lucky in great long runs on TV series that were attached to the heart and got into the audiences’ hearts.“I definitely am not in a rush to move back into TV right away and if I do it will probably be under different circumstances. I don’t think I’ll be crossing people over!”
Hewitt recently revealed she doesn’t weight herself and urged other young women to do the same.“I don’t have scales any more and I don’t weigh myself,” she said. “I would urge women everywhere to throw out their scales.
“Even when I go to the doctor’s office I’m like, ‘Don’t tell me’. Just write it on your chart and don’t tell me.’ It does you no good to know.”
