The much-discussed forthcoming Bjork album is now set to have an iPad app for every song.
The Guardian have revealed more information about the Icelandic princess' seventh album/multimedia extravaganza.
The album will be titled Biophilia ' which means exactly what you think: the love of life.
It will come out in two formats; the first will be the regular album cycle ' tracks and videos and album covers.
They report she'll again team with Michel Gondry, the man behind many classic videos as well as films like Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind and Be Kind Rewind. Gondry shot the clips for her singles 'Bachelorette', 'Declare Independence', 'Joga', 'Hyperballad', 'Isabel', 'Army Of Me' and 'Human Behaviour'.
But there will also be an app version of Biophilia for the iPod, featuring individual apps for each song within a larger 'mother' app. The app will let you interact with the song as well as associated visuals.
The artist commissioned to make the apps, Scott Snibbe, told The Guardian, "Björk's put herself way at the forefront here by saying, 'We'll release this album and these apps at the same time and they're all part of the same story.' The app is an expression of the music, the story and the idea."
Björk is currently preparing for expansive multimedia performances of her new songs at the Manchester International Festival in late-June through July.
