"Desperate Housewives" actress Eva Longoria will be the 2011 grand marshal of the Texas Cavaliers River Parade during San Antonio's Fiesta.
The festival organizers are expecting about 250,000 people to watch the parade from the banks of the San Antonio river on April 11 at 7 p.m.and proceeds from the event will go to 40 charities, including the "Desperate Housewives" actress charity Eva's Heroes.
Longoria said in a recent interview that she "applauds them for taking the tradition and combining it with a philanthropic effort like children's charities."
Eva's Heroes is based in San Antonio, Texas and helps teens and young adults who were born with developmental disabilities.

"I was extremely fortunate to grow up with an intellectually disabled sister," Longoria wrote on the charity's website. "My mother became a special education teacher because of her and therefore I have been involved with all facets of this disability since I could walk and talk."
